The nationwide Eldercare Locator is a toll free 800 number for identifying the information and referral assistance services provided by State and Area Agencies on Aging. This service is funded by the USAdministration on Aging and administered by the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging in cooperation with National Association of State Units on Aging. |
Individuals calling this service have access to more than 4800 state and local information and referral service providers, identified for every ZIP code in the country. The database also includes special purpose information and referral telephone numbers for Alzheimer's hotlines, adult day care and respite services, nursing home ombudsman assistance, consumer fraud, in-home care complaints, legal services, elder abuse and protective services, tax assistance, Medicare/Medicaid/Medigap information, and transportation.
