Of all the issues that seniors identify as important to them, transportation continues to be at the top of the list. Access to information is second. In our culture, being able to be mobile and access transportation is a clear indicator of the ability to be independent.
As a caregiver, transportation may not be a critical issue for you. Your older family member may not be able to travel other than to a few selected events such as doctor appointments or church. But, for some of you, transportation may be the key to keeping your family member as active and independent as possible.
