North Carolina Area Agencies on Aging

 

The best way to connect with local services is to contact the Area Agency on Aging for the county in which the person needing assistance lives. They can provide you with information on Information and Assistance professionals, Caregiver Specialists, and local available services and agencies (including local Councils and/or Departments on Aging).

In NC, AAAs have functions in five basic areas: (1) advocacy (2) planning (3) program and resource development (4) information brokerage, and (5) funds administration and quality assurance.
